Summer school on Cryptography
21.-25. September 2026, Uni Hamburg.
This summer school on cryptography offers undergraduate and graduate students and researchers the opportunity to crypt a bit. It provides acquaintance and interaction in an intellectually stimulating and informal atmosphere in pleasant surroundings.
The crypt@b-it is organized by the GI, FG Krypto, CASA (Cyber Security in the Age of Large-Scale Adversaries) at Ruhr-Universität Bochum and the b-it (Bonn-Aachen International Center for Information Technology). (? In cooperation with IACR.)
Description
The one-week summer school crypt@b-it 2024 will explore some areas of cryptography. Invited Speakers are:
- Sofía Celi, Brave Research & University of Bristol,
- Orr Dunkelmann, Computer Science Department of University of Haifa,
In addition, there will be tutorials and hands-on exercises on topics somewhat related to the lectures, possibly a special feature. The intended audience are undergraduate and graduate students as well as postdocs and researchers who work in the area or at least have a basic knowledge.

Stipends
For students that require financial aid, we provide a limited number of stipends which cover the crypt@b-it registration fee. (Please note that we cannot subsidize accommodation or travel cost.)
If you intend to apply for a stipend, wait with a payment until the decision about the stipend is made.
Students enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program as well as doctoral candidates with no fulltime funding are eligible to apply.
To apply, please send a short email to the organizing committee noting whether you require full or partial funding, and including the following documents as PDFs:
- A study certificate for the current semester
- A motivational letter (250-300 words) addressing...
- ... which previous experience with cryptography you have (e.g. lectures, research, etc.).

- ... why you need the stipend?
